In a few weeks I will be venturing to the snow for a long holiday weekend with friends. I've been looking for snow boots and some type of outdoorsy coat. My wardrobe is lacking these items since I much prefer warmer weather and am more of a wool coating kind of gal. North Face seems to be a second skin on many San Franciscans but I personally do not own any. Therefore, I was toying with the idea of getting a fun down jacket of some sort.
Tonight I came across Bill Cunningham's photos about the evolution of the puffy down coat. I would love for someone to give me the white puffy piece of heaven designed by Charles James. The coat was designed in the 30s and rocked at Studio 54 in the 70s. I think it would be a definite standout on the slopes during my trip. Who am I kidding- it would look great while taking in the sights on the deck at the house while drinking a hot toddy *wink*
