In a matter of weeks I will be moving into my own little cozy sanctuary. Design challenges are a plenty, mainly due to square footage, but I get really excited thinking about painting and redecorating. Many purchases need to be made to make the space my own. I've been scouring the usual suspects online (Crate & Barrel, CB2, Fishs Eddy, West Elm, Ikea, etc.) and my focus is finding the unique in everyday items.

Years ago for a date, I was taken to an industrial design lecture at fuseproject. (Attention gentlemen: The idea scored MAJOR points in my book.) It was there I first experienced all things Yves Behar and needless to say I was hooked. So much thought goes into everyday objects we use. As someone who bases purchases on function and form, I knew I needed to see the film Objectified. Thanks to the powers of Craigslist I scored a ticket to a screening and Q&A session last spring.

While you are out-and-about, make sure to take a moment to appreciate all the wonderful design we are surrounded by daily.
