Happy 3rd birthday to my baby Superstylin*!!! Things were abuzz at Superstylin* HQ in a MAJOR way this week so I missed celebrating on the actual date. What can I say- I was too busy making fashion happen. Today I will most definitely pop some bubbly and raise a glass(es).

What began as a blog three years ago is now a registered business. When starting out I viewed my blog as a branding tool for something bigger, something greater that still had yet to come to fruition. The Superstylin* blog has been a powerful vehicle and because of it I have expanded my professional circle exponentially and been afforded some amazing experiences. Nothing feels better than walking into a meeting with a CEO and he tells you he knows of your company.

During the fall of 2009 I was lamenting about personal style blogs and social media overkill during fashion month in my first Superstylin* post. (Funny how some things haven't changed.) My love of fashion is greater and I still believe fashion should be fun. Thank you for being along for the ride dear Superstylin* stars and please join me as I embark on new adventures.

A few weeks ago I had the great honor of being selected to participate in fashion and digital first. Social commerce site Lyst went live backstage during the Spring/Summer 2013 collections at New York Fashion Week and hosted Google Hangouts with designers Rebecca Minkoff and Amy Smiliovic of Tibi. The Q&A sessions hosted by Eva Chen of Teen Vogue included not only segments with the designers but also hair and makeup artists from companies such as Stila, Tresemme, Essie and Bobbi Brown, as well as some of the hottest bloggers on the scene today.

The Google+ conversations offer insights about the designers inspiration, the latest hair and makeup products and nail trends. Yours truly made sure to do her research while composing questions for the attendees. The hangouts were such wonderful projects to be a part of and other companies have taken notice of the format. What will the future of fashion and digital bring next?

The Rebecca Minkoff resort collection was a nod to California skate and surf. For Spring/Summer 2013 there seems to be a continuation of the sun-and-fun theme. You were quoted in British Vogue as being inspired by a girl at a pool party exuding self-confidence. How do you begin the design process for a new collection?

The Tibi brand was once synonymous with feminine party frocks but over the past few seasons the look has evolved towards a more minimal edgier downtown vibe. Can you explain the shift in design?
