During the fall of 2012, I started teaching at The Art Institute of California- San Francisco in the Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing & Management departments. Over the past several months I have had the pleasure of meeting so many fresh faces excited about fashion. Campus is abuzz about the upcoming annual fashion show marking the culmination of years of hard work for the students.
The Art Institute of California- San Francisco presents StyleWOW, one of the West Coast’s largest student-produced fashion shows, at the San Francisco Design Center on Saturday, June 15, 2013, with a VIP reception at 7pm and show at 8pm. London Fashion Week Founder and AiCASF's newest instructor Michael Rosen has challenged students to push their creative boundaries with his production of this year’s show. "Since creating London Fashion week in the early 80's and producing nearly 200 events in any given year, these days I only work on ones that excite and interest me. Hearing and seeing the changes that AiCASF is aiming to make in their fashion programs, I am honored and privileged to help guide them through to international runway style and standards," states Rosen.
The event is a collaborative effort to promote student entrepreneurial spirit. “This year, I am so delighted that students from programs other than fashion are greatly involved in the show. An advertising student designed the graphics and photography students created all of the promotional photographs, and will shoot the show. Additionally, digital film & video production students will document the show, an audio student will be the DJ and culinary students from our International Culinary School will provide VIP catering. This reflects the real world importance of collaborations and team work,” states AiCASF Fashion Director Geetika Gupta.
